Please note that the Port of Oakland will be closed on Friday, May 1, 2015. There will be no vessel, yard, or gate operations. The Friday closure is a combination of a social justice protest (to protest against police brutality) and a traditional May Day (International Workers’ Day) celebration.

As many of you are aware, despite news sources indicating that vessels are no longer backed up at the ports, the actual conditions at the terminals remain very serious. Drivers are often times still taking hours to pick up a container.
